According to 2009 US OPEN Final Betting Odds makers at Bodog.com, sports betting odds favorite Kim Clijster [-400 ML] will finish her improbable run with a Grand Slam title, as she’s projected to defeat the betting underdog Caroline Wozniacki [+275 ML].

It was a very sad night for tennis on Saturday in Flushing Meadows, as an incredible match between an unwavering Kim Clijster and an enraged Serena Williams came to end earlier than expected. For Clijster, she could not have played any better against the best player in the world.

Her poise and composure throughout the match was exceptional, even when things got very strange and a bit chaotic. "To be honest with you, I didn't even want to be involved," Clijster said about Williams’ outrage. "OK, Kim, don't lose focus. You want to win this last point here. I just tried to stay away. You're kind of in your own bubble when you're out there. So normal feelings of winning a match weren't quite there."

Clijster won the US OPEN title in 2005, and after taking two years off to start her family, it looks like she has picked up right where she left off. But in order to get her second career Grand Slam title, she will have to play the very young and talented 9th seeded Caroline Woniacki. Erin Andrews peeping tom video was a nightmare for her

Friday, September 11, 2009

khabrein.info - New Delhi, Sept 12, 2009: Erin Andrews peeping tom video was a nightmare for her. Erin Andrews, the ESPN reporter in an interview to Oprah Winfrey has said that she thought her career was over following the peephole video tape in which she was filmed nude while in her room.

In an interview –her first one – following the much talked about video she says she thought there is no career left for her and that she would not be able to continue her professional life.

So far there is still no certainty as to who shot the video clip.

And mind you this was not a single video clip shot surreptitiously. A gossip website has so far concluded that the full video that did the round on internet initially was shot in six clips.

So how come a single person can shoot a video of celebrity type ESPN reporter without the involvement of a group that has access to the places or hotels where Erin Andrews stayed.

Nobody knew that it was Erin Andrews in the video till ESPN send a notice to a website that had hosted the naked video of ESPN reporter.

She told Oprah, “I mean, having to call my parents and they - they thought I was physically injured how bad I was screaming",

Andres says that she continued screaming to her father on phone “I kept screaming, I'm done. My career is over. I'm done. Get it off. Get it off the Internet. Get it off."

“It was reliving it. Like I said, I understand you have a story to cover. But it's almost like you're - you're glorifying it. 'Hey, check out this video. Check out these pictures.' There was no need to show those. I'm a crime victim, said Erin Andrews.

Andrews became an Internet sensation, as she is popular among male sports fans for her physical appearance and knowledge of sports. In 2007 and 2008, she was voted "America's Sexiest Sportscaster" by Playboy Magazine.

Andrews began her career with FSN Florida as a freelance reporter from 2000–01, before serving as a Tampa Bay Lightning reporter for the Sunshine Network from 2001–02. She then worked as a studio host for Turner Sports from 2002–04, covering the Atlanta Braves and college football for TBS and Atlanta Thrashers and Atlanta Hawks for Turner South.

Andrews joined ESPN in May 2004 as a reporter for the network's National Hockey League coverage. Since the 2004 season, she has served as sideline reporter for the ESPN College Football Saturday telecast, the Saturday Primetime college basketball game and Big Ten college basketball coverage.

Erin Andrews in 2005 added Major League Baseball sideline reporting to her duties. She also provides reports and features on Great Outdoor Games coverage, covers Men's college baseball, and is a familiar sight during the College World Series. On July 8, 2009, Andrews was struck by a foul ball in the chin. The ball was hit by Alex Cora of the New York Mets. She was rushed to the hospital, but she only suffered bruises.

Searches for the video surged to the top of the Google Hot Trends list last weekend — as pervs “sports fanatics” risk violating laws and downloading computer viruses to get to the video.

Her attorney in a statement said, “while alone in the privacy of her hotel room, Erin Andrews was surreptitiously videotaped without her knowledge or consent. She was the victim of a crime and is taking action to protect herself and help ensure that others are not similarly violated in the future”.

Peter Vecsey's hilariously awkward Hall of Fame speech

If you were on Twitter last night and happen to follow me, you know I was tweetin' up a 140 storm trying to convince people to turn off that hideous crap the Black Eyed Peas call music and instead watch the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Awards Dinner online at NBA.com.

I hope some of you followed my lead, because longtime New York Post basketball columnist Peter Vecsey gave one of the worst (cough, best) Hall of Fame speeches in history.

Author Jeff Pearlman, who was in attendance, breaks it down:
"... the night was going very well. Speeches were moderately short, the MC — an excellent Ernie Johnson — kept things rolling, Jordan and his gang made their waves. At approximately 8:20 pm, Doug Collins, also inducted as a media member, offered up an absolutely wonderful speech, crying as he asked his wife and children to stand.

And then, Vecsey took the stage.

He seemed to have no notes. No thoughts. No ... nothing. He began not by expressing his appreciation, but by rattling off all the shunned players he believed belonged in the Hall. From there, he just ... babbled. About this. About that. He seemed to be drunk, but I don't think he was. The man just, well, sucked. He used language one doesn't use in a Hall speech. He called out people's names ('Calvin Murphy! Tiny Archibald!'), and you could literally see the man squirming in their seats. I was sitting about 10 feet from David Stern, who — throughout the ceaseless banter — dismissively shook his head while checking his Blackberry. Jordan, the star of the weekend, walked out. Just left, and never returned.

The best part came, oh, 30 minutes in, when Vecsey took a breather between points. As if on cue, the entire room started to applaud — a very clear, very audible get-the-f^%$-off-the-stage command. Suddenly, music piped in from above — yet another get-the-f^%$-off-the-stage command. Oddly, Vecsey really paid it no mind. He kept talking until, I believe, his mic was turned off (either that, or he got the clue)."

Honestly, words don't come close to describing this speech. It was bad. And awkward. And sort of funny. But mostly bad. Vecsey had a weird crack about John Stockton and Madonna, said "punk ass" a few times, and even got in some old-timer baseball talk. It was wild. Again, Michael Jordan walked out!

I've been searching YouTube and NBA.com all morning for some video of it, but, well ... yeah, I'm not holding my breath. You thought LeBron or Nike knew how to confiscate a tape? Please. Stern's got this.

Bad weather forces space shuttle Discovery to skip landing

news-press.com, CAPE CANAVERAL — Bad weather has delayed space shuttle Discovery’s homecoming for at least a day.

NASA decided conditions were too poor to bring Discovery back to Florida on Thursday evening. Mission Control skipped both landing possibilities and ordered the seven astronauts to keep circling the world for a 14th day. Their next chance at returning will be Friday at 5:54 p.m.

The forecast for Florida on Friday is worse, and it only gets a little better Saturday. NASA says if necessary, it will consider the backup landing site in California on Friday.

There was a bit of excitement earlier Thursday when the astronauts steered clear of a mysterious piece of space junk. The debris apparently came from the shuttle or international space station.

6:19 p.m. update

NASA has waved off Discovery's first landing attempt scheduled for 7:05 p.m., according to our partners at Florida Today. The next and final landing opportunity today is at 8:40 p.m.

4:34 p.m. update

As space shuttle Discovery passes over Sarasota on its way to a 7:05 p.m. touchdown today at the Kennedy Space Center, Lee County residents might be able to hear a double sonic boom.

But thunderstorms and stiff winds on Florida’s east coast might keep the shuttle from landing after its 13-day mission.

NASA said it would consider the backup landing site in Southern California as early as Friday if Discovery could not return to its Florida home port on Thursday.

The shuttle has enough supplies to stay up until Sunday.

Matt Damon Dead Rumors Dismissed

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Matt Damon is the latest celebrity to fall victim to dead rumors.

On Wednesday, several Web sites began reporting that Damon was found dead after heading out on a camping trip in California. Some sites cited TMZ as reporting Damon's death, saying his body had been found by an Imperial County Sheriff's Department deputy. Damon was said to have sent a dire text message to a friend that he was out of water and in need of assistance, which triggered a massive search.

In reality, Damon has been overseas attending the Venice Film Festival this week. On Monday, he spoke about putting on 30 pounds to play Mark Whitacre, an agricultural company's vice president-turned-FBI informant.

"It was very, very easy to gain the weight," Damon told reporters of his upcoming film "The Informant." "It was very, very fun, probably the funnest time I had working because I didn't have to go to the gym after work and I just ate everything I could see."

The Damon dead rumor comes on the heels of several other fake death reports surrounding celebrities in recent months, including "Harry Potter" actress Emma Watson and "Beverly Hills Cop" star Eddie Murphy.

Obama’s Health Care Speech delivered tonight – September 9, 2009

examiner.com, President Obama’s health care speech was aired live on all of the major networks and CNN tonight. Obama began his speech with two key statements: “I can say with confidence that we have pulled this economy back from the brink.” “I am not the first President to take up this cause [health care], but I am determined to be the last.”

He went on to state that 30,000,000 American citizens are without coverage. We spend 1 and a ½ times more than any other country and we have worse coverage. We know we must reform this system. Democrats believe that we should have a system like Canada’s, while Republicans believe we should end employer based systems, and let employees get their own health care coverage. Obama stated that we must bring the best ideas of both parties together.

This plan has three basic goals: to provide more security to those who have coverage, bring insurance to those who don’t have coverage, and to slow the growth of health care costs.

Obama stated that if you already have insurance…there will be no change. This plan will add some benefit to you. Under this plan, you cannot be denied coverage for a pre-existing condition. It will be against the law to drop your coverage or limit it. There will be a limit on out of pocket expenses, and prescription drugs. All insurance companies will be required to cover the basics of preventive care.

President Obama proposed a public insurance exchange – for new small businesses and people who are not covered and will be able to shop for affordable health insurance.

Tax credits will be provided for people who do not have insurance. Obama expects this public insurance exchange to be up and running within 4 years. And immediate affordable health care coverage will be available for those who cannot afford it…Obama said that no one should go broke because of a health problem.

Under this plan, everyone will be required to have health insurance, just as auto insurance coverage is currently required. Obama recognized John McCain for his ideas on insurance health care from his presidential campaign, and said he used some of his ideas in this plan.

Obama mentioned that none of this insurance coverage will cover abortions.

Obama stated that: consumers do better when there is choice and competition. In 34 states, 75% of the health care insurance companies are controlled by just 5 companies. These insurance reforms would keep those companies honest. This "Public Insurance Option" would only be an option for those who do not have insurance. He believes that less than 5% of the American public will sign up for this coverage. The “Public Insurance Option” would provide a good deal for consumers. He compared this plan to something like Medicare. If an American can’t find affordable coverage, Obama said they will be provided with a choice. The public insurance option will compete with private insurance companies.

President Obama mentioned that this plan will take some time and effort to be ironed out, and received quite a loud chuckle on that one. Obama mentioned that we cannot fail at this...too many Americans are depending on us to provide quality health care. The speech lasted about 45 minutes.

Why 09/09/09 Is So Special?

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Have special plans this 09/09/09?

Everyone from brides and grooms to movie studio execs are celebrating the upcoming calendrical anomaly in their own way.

In Florida, at least one county clerk's office is offering a one-day wedding special for $99.99. The rarity of this Sept. 9 hasn't been lost on the creators of the iPod, who have moved their traditional Tuesday release day to Wednesday to take advantage of the special date. Focus Features is releasing their new film "9," an animated tale about the apocalypse, on the 9th.

Not only does the date look good in marketing promotions, but it also represents the last set of repeating, single-digit dates that we'll see for almost a century (until January 1, 2101), or a millennium (mark your calendars for January 1, 3001), depending on how you want to count it.

Though technically there's nothing special about the symmetrical date, some concerned with the history and meaning of numbers ascribe powerful significance to 09/09/09.

For cultures in which the number nine is lucky, Sept. 9 is anticipated - while others might see the date as an ominous warning.

Math magic

Modern numerologists - who operate outside the realm of real science - believe that mystical significance or vibrations can be assigned to each numeral one through nine, and different combinations of the digits produce tangible results in life depending on their application.

As the final numeral, the number nine holds special rank. It is associated with forgiveness, compassion and success on the positive side as well as arrogance and self-righteousness on the negative, according to numerologists.

Though usually discredited as bogus, numerologists do have a famous predecessor to look to. Pythagoras, the Greek mathematician and father of the famous theorem, is also credited with popularizing numerology in ancient times.

"Pythagoras most of all seems to have honored and advanced the study concerned with numbers, having taken it away from the use of merchants and likening all things to numbers," wrote Aristoxenus, an ancient Greek historian, in the 4th century B.C.

As part of his obsession with numbers both mathematically and divine, and like many mathematicians before and since, Pythagoras noted that nine in particular had many unique properties.

Any grade-schooler could tell you, for example, that the sum of the two-digits resulting from nine multiplied by any other single-digit number will equal nine. So 9x3=27, and 2+7=9.

Multiply nine by any two, three or four-digit number and the sums of those will also break down to nine. For example: 9x62 = 558; 5+5+8=18; 1+8=9.

Sept. 9 also happens to be the 252nd day of the year (2 + 5 +2)...

Loving 9

Both China and Japan have strong feelings about the number nine. Those feelings just happen to be on opposite ends of the spectrum.

The Chinese pulled out all the stops to celebrate their lucky number eight during last year's Summer Olympics, ringing the games in at 8 p.m. on 08/08/08. What many might not realize is that nine comes in second on their list of auspicious digits and is associated with long life, due to how similar its pronunciation is to the local word for long-lasting (eight sounds like wealth).

Historically, ancient Chinese emperors associated themselves closely with the number nine, which appeared prominently in architecture and royal dress, often in the form of nine fearsome dragons. The imperial dynasties were so convinced of the power of the number nine that the palace complex at Beijing's Forbidden City is rumored to have been built with 9,999 rooms.

Japanese emperors would have never worn a robe with nine dragons, however.

In Japanese, the word for nine is a homophone for the word for suffering, so the number is considered highly unlucky - second only to four, which sounds like death.

Many Japanese will go so far as to avoid room numbers including nine at hotels or hospitals, if the building planners haven't already eliminated them altogether.

Maksim - Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 (Liszt) VIDEO

Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 (Liszt) VIDEO i get from Youtube.........

Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2

Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, S.244/2, is the second in a set of 19 Hungarian Rhapsodies by composer Franz Liszt, and is by far the most famous of the set. Few other piano solos have achieved such widespread popularity, offering the pianist the opportunity to reveal exceptional skill as a virtuoso, while providing the listener with an immediate and irresistible musical appeal.

In both the original piano solo form and in the orchestrated version this composition has enjoyed widespread use in animated cartoons. Its themes have also served as the basis of several popular songs.

The Hungarian-born composer and pianist Franz Liszt was strongly influenced by the music heard in his youth, particularly Hungarian folk music, with its unique gypsy scale, rhythmic spontaneity and direct, seductive expression. These elements would eventually play a significant role in Liszt's compositions. Although this prolific composer's works are highly varied in style, a relatively large part of his output is nationalistic in character, the Hungarian Rhapsodies being an ideal example.

Composed in 1847 and dedicated to Count Laszlo Teleky, Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 was first published as a piano solo in 1851 by Senff and Ricordi. Its immediate success and popularity on the concert stage soon led to an orchestrated version, arranged by the composer in collaboration with Franz Doppler, and published by Schuberth. In addition to the orchestral version, the composer arranged a piano duet version in 1874, published by Schuberth the following year.

By the late 19th century and early 20th century, the excruciating technical challenges of the piano solo version led to its acceptance as the "unofficial standard" by which every notable pianist would "prove his salt", usually as a smashing finale.[citation needed] It had become an expected staple of virtually every performance of the greatest pianists of the time. Offering an outstanding contrast to the serious and dramatic lassan, the following friska holds enormous appeal for audiences, with its simple alternating tonic and dominant harmonization, its energetic, toe-tapping rhythms, and breath-taking "pianistics".

Most unusual in this composition is the composer's invitation for the performer to improvise an original Cadenza, although most pianists choose to decline the invitation. Other pianists have arranged their own versions of the Rhapsody with changes beyond that of simply adding a cadenza, most notably Vladimir Horowitz in 1953.
